DOUGLAS SMITH

Civil Celebrant

I was born in Carronshore on St. Patrick's day in 1968. I had an amazing up bringing in the wee mining village. I have been doing Poetry for as long as I can remember and I have also had a book published with my work. In my spare time I love to play Scottish music.

I started doing funeral services after my fathers cousin asked me to do Burns at his service. I couldn't say no! After that I did my mums Eulogy, she was the most amazing women I've ever known. That was in 2014.

I find it very rewarding being able to give a family comfort when they are at their most vulnerable, and saddest time of their lives. I wear a Kilt and Highland dress at every service.

I do also offer personal poems for all my services. I'm so passionate about being a celebrant that I always make sure every family gets the best service they could wish for.

Customers Say It Best

If anyone is ever looking for a Celebrant for weddings, Funerals or Christening please look no further than a very special friend Dougie Smith. My dear mum passed away and Dougie was there to help us organise mums funeral. Personal touches also very professional, caring and funny just how we all wanted for my mum. Our choice was to celebrate mums life and Dougie did an amazing job!
